Chinese Scroll Painting, "Crane and Peaches"

Originally painted by Shen Quan, the painting shows three cranes among peach trees.  Cranes and peaches are all considered to be lucky symbols in Chinese culture.  This painting represents wealth, luck, and longevity. 

Shen Quan is a famous artist in Qing Dynasty.  He specializes in animals and flowers.  He also visited Japan in 1723 and taught painting for 2 years.  Many famous Japanese artists are influenced by him.
