Flying goddess imagery has its roots in ancient Buddhism. They are the embodiment of the Buddhist deity of song and music, offering pleasant diversion and fetching dance to the Buddha. Ancient Chinese artists created this fine image to express their desire for blessed lives in the land of the Buddha.
