This handmade pottery vase features Nakhi totem images and Nakhi pictographic scripts. The totem image is the thunder god, an eagle like deity, who is the guardian of the Nakhi people. On the sides, there are characters from the Dongba pictographic scripts, the oldest writing language this is still in use.
