This handmade pottery wall hanging is in a shape of a Chinese roof tile. The tile is decorated with the Nakhi Thunder God, an eagle, who has human hands, snake tail, and bird wings. The artist also uses sticks and twine to form a Chinese traditional pattern –the Eight Diagrams.
In the structures of ancient Chinese houses, usually, the roof will be paved tiles all over it. The eaves tiles are the end tile covering the eave, protecting the rafters under the roof.
