Paper Cut (framed), 'Panda Eating Watermelon'
This hand cut and painted framed paper cut artwork features a sweating panda eating a slice of watermelon in a Summer hot day. A fan is dropped behind him. Another half of the watermelon is put on a bamboo stool with a scoop sticking in.
The paper cut artist humanized the panda with a common summer theme, showing the love for the pandas from the artist.

About the artist, Yan Furui
“I was born into paper cutting. Wei County is famous for its paper cutting. My grandmother was a very skillful paper cutting artist. She started teaching me when I was 7. Back then, paper cutting were only made for holiday decorations. I remember whenever I saw grandmothers sitting together cutting paper, then I knew the holiday feast was coming,” says Yan.
