This sculpture features a musician playing a harp while riding on a horse. He is a member of the royal band in North Wei Dynasty (A.D.386~A.D.534).
When the emperor having a march, there is a group of grand honor guards walking in the very first line. The vigorous war horse walk in rows, banners and flags flowing in the wind, the great noble guards show the power and elegance of the emperors. Walking in the march, the royal band play various music instruments riding on horses as well; all the players wear colorful robe and feather hats.
