The hairpin is carved with patterns of tendril vine and leaves. The shape of the hairpin's top is very special. Two silver strings wire into curves forming the Chinese character of harvest inside three silver oval frames.

About the artist, Wu Shouhua
Many of the folk artists learned their trade from their family; Wu Shouhua is an exception. Wu was born in the city of Kaili, where most of the population is Miao ethnic. The Miaos are famous for their ethnic clothing and incredible silver jewelries.
