Tang Tri-color Pottery Replica Sculpture, 'Music Band on a Camel'
This sculpture features a band of five men on the back of a camel. Four members of the band playing the various music instruments while one singer standing in the middle and singing. The camel raises his head; the body is painted in bright blue glaze; the neck fur is captured by the artist perfectly.
With the silk road, Tang was the trade center of the world during its time. The band members have facial features showing that they probably coming from the Middle east.

About the artist, Gao Shuiwang
Gao Shuiwang, 48 years old, was born in the Stone Mountain Village, Henan province of China. Many of the villagers are very good part time craftsmen making Tang Tri-color pottery. Gao grew up hanging around those craftsmen. Instead of playing during his free time, Gao spent his childhood learning the secret of making tri-color pottery. He has received the “Outstanding Folk Artist” award, by the UNESCO for his remarkable skill.
