About the artist, Zheng Yuntai

Mr. Zheng's father is a native Miao ethnic silversmith in Yunnan province; his mother is from Thailand.  That's how he got his name "Yuntai", which means Yunnan and Thailand.  Zheng is a man who like to try new things.  His mixes traditional Miao designs ,which his father taught him, with Thailand jewelry styles.  His new styles have been very popular among the local youth. He now operates a 10-man workshop making Miao silver jewelry.

Mr. Zheng's jewelry is made with "Miao Silver" which is an alloy of Silver, Nickel, and brass.  The alloy is more tarnish resisting and stronger than silver.  Also the alloy is much less expensive than pure silver and has made his jewelry more affordable.
