Wood Wall Hanging, 'Double Fish'
The sculpture is in a shape of a Chinese Horse Feed spoon, also known as Mashao. Like our other wood spoons, the locals believe by hanging the wood spoon, it will bring your family luck and fortune. This "Double Fish" design is one of the Nahki ethnic totems. The two fish represents happiness, wealth, and prosperity. The design is carved on the wood spoon. About the artist, Cun liusan
Cun Liusan is a Yunnan Nahki (Naxi) native artisan. He lives in the old city of Lijiang,Yunnan Province, China. He specializes in wood etching. He first paint his wood plates in glossy solid colors or gradients of different colors. Then he uses it as a canvas, and etches his designs on. His designs are mainly about Nahki gods, guardians, and totems.
