“I learned wood carving from my grandfather. He was a very famous mask maker. I started learning since I was 8 years old. I started on my own when I was 17. Nuo drama and ceremony are still very important to our lives. As a mask maker, my duty is to make the best masks and help the actors to bring the characters to life. I am glad that my masks have become so popular. I am happy that the tourists can take one of the masks home, bringing our culture to their family and friends.”
