Wood Wall Hanging, 'Chinese Girls'
This round wood carving features two ethnic Chinese girls in ethnic clothing, each carrying two fish. The artist first painted the wood plate in gradient colors of red and black. Then the artist put the design on the plate by carefully taking off the paint on unwanted area, then carves the the detailed lines and designs on the plate.

About the artist, Cun liusan
Cun Liusan is a Yunnan Nahki (Naxi) native artisan. He lives in the old city of Lijiang,Yunnan Province, China. He specializes in wood etching. He first paint his wood plates in glossy solid colors or gradients of different colors. Then he uses it as a canvas, and etches his designs on. His designs are mainly about Nahki gods, guardians, and totems.
